Stratocaster Pickup Choices

Firstly, we can offer neck and bridge pickups made to your requirements, including bright or warm tone.

If you want a flush, stagger or adjustable pole profile - just let us know.

Fender Stratocaster type description

1. Alnico 5 magnet pole piece
    (staggered, flush or adjustable, as shown above)
2. 42-gauge Scatter wound wire
3. Wax Potted
4. For covers see accessories page (One per pickup is included in order)

Wind wire types:

42-gauge Formvar wire.

Classic, warm late 50’s, early 60’s tone.

42-gauge plain enamelled wire.

Bright and clear mid to late 60’s tone

Output:

Middle and neck pickup

5.6Kohm

Bridge pickup

6.3Kohm

Reverse Wound Reverse Polarity (RWRP) option is available. This has hum cancelling properties when using Bridge and Middle or Neck and Middle pickups together.

Single pickup £60, set £165

Over winding: “Hot” higher output results. Mid range gain, some top end is lost.


Under winding: “Backed off” output. Some midrange loss, more cutting top end.

Output can be increased by moving the pickup closer to the strings OR

Choose Adjustable Poles and move the poles closer to the strings.

It is possible to have all three pickups wound identically. The tone of the pickup will alter by virtue of its position relative to the neck position. Please let is know if this is of interest, otherwise we will wind in the usual calibrated manner.
