Telecaster type description

Here are some of the classic designs

Bridge Pickup

1. Alnico II or III magnets, flush as shown above
2. Raised D & G Alinico V optional
3. 4
2-gauge wind wire
4. Scatter wound
5. Potted
6. Copper coated steel reflector base plate (emphasises top end)

Neck Pickup

1. Alnico II, III or V magnets - mounted flush as standard
2. 43 Gauge wind wire
3. Scatter wound
4. Potted

Wind wire types:

Bridge Pickup

42-gauge plain enamelled wire.

Bright and clear traditional telecaster bridge pickup tone preserved.

Neck Pickup

42-gauge plain enamel wire.

Lighter gauge wire gives close output to that of the bridge pickup whilst giving a more compact size of pickup coil. RWRP option available.

Reverse Wound Reverse Polarity (RWRP) option is available. This has hum cancelling properties when using Bridge and Middle or Neck and Middle pickups together.

Single pickup £65, pair £120

Over winding: “Hot” higher output results. Mid range gain, some top end is lost.


Under winding: “Backed off” output. Some midrange loss, more cutting top end.

Output can be increased by moving the pickup closer to the strings OR

Choose Adjustable Poles and move the poles closer to the strings.
